My Kind of Paintings

I still think about this exhibit that i saw in Washington D.C about a year ago. It was devoted to Hip Hop. This guy Kehinde Wiley has an interesting take on paintings. He takes you black men from an urban setting and paints them. Then, he paints these intricate, very regal ornate inspired backgrounds. The exhibit i saw of his was all rappers. But i like his perspective. I didn't know how well known he was. But cheers to black men and art!
