Erkyah Badu's new LP, New Amerykah pt. 2 : Return Of The Ankh, is one that captivates from the get-go. I took my time while listening to it and grew to appreciate it's wholeness as an album, something that always seems to happen with amazing LPs. Its great at first listen, but its even better when you discover something with a particular song, maybe you find an association- something that makes that song the one you put at the top of your playlist or the one you listen to before bed and upon waking. And what's even better is when you're given an entire album that is comprised of songs like this, songs that lead you through the album as a whole over a longer period of time. Return of the Ankh is a new experience that still manages to maintain a familiarity about it. If you haven't, you should - Get this album.
