I had the pleasure to witness a lecture/viewing of Jan Staller's photography. Not only is he a MICA Alumni but he's also a working FILM photographer. He's done work for TIME magazine and various publications. I must say his work is captivating, although not my style. He occasionally works with photoshop but all of his work is film based. I find it inspiring because it's rare to see a sucessful working photographer who only uses film. This gives me hope for the future. I don't have to conform to digital if i don't please. He's a reminder why I'm in Baltimore in a lot of ways.

  1. True artist don't conform, they set trends. It's ok to manipulate tools that are available if one desires, but stay true to yourself. Remember your creativity comes from within.
